How can I change input value for both sides (mine and website's) in javascript?

I want to make code change value of number on website but, when I use functions like .val() or .value = x it changes only look of website on my screen instead of editting value and reacting to it. Is there a function or a method (like pressing keys with javascript command) to make it work ?
