What are the common processes (like serialization) among the software project targeting different platforms like Android, Web,Linux, Windows etc?

I am searching for the common processes (but have to implement differently each time on different platform) which happen during development of software targeting different platforms. Like serialization/deserialization is process which is needed for every software/application development (in Android, iOS, Web etc).
