I felt that me coming here is the best solution.
I am Anthony DeMatteis, I am 16 years old, and I would love to learn web development. I took and finished some courses, and I am on another course now, and I have taken many small courses as well.
I have definitely "mastered" or, very familiar with html, and css, but when it comes to javascript, things start to go downhill from there. I definitely know some key concepts in javascript, but I just can't figure out how to use it independently (without any help or someone guiding me)
And from jquery, php, json, it all goes straight downhill. I learned some of it through courses, and im on that section now in another course, but it is just so complicated to understand, especially when there are different syntaxes
Example: ids can be recognized like ("#id"), (id), and (#id), and I don't understand which is used for which.. and some code requires (); beside it, while others do ({});
My point is out of all of this is that I just wanted to know if maybe computer science isn't for me, because I can't get a grasp of things, while others can. I would really like a recommendation on what to do in my situation
Do I keep learning and following other instructor's code? I feel that I am not really learning as much, especially with php and jquery and javascript, I copy the code and do not really understand it as much.
Do you recommend any sources that are extremely beneficial for web development? (currently with udemy for the majority of my courses)
(I have been at web development since august - 4 months -)
Thank you very much,
Anthony DeMatteis
