I dont know where to start to make webpage with videos from youtube

I want to make for ex. a player with videos from youtube.But my problem is that i want to make it play for example trend videos of the day. I saw the youtube API but i dont know what to do or how. If anyone can help me where to search and read i would be happy. Thanks
