Send real time data from local server to online server

A local linux computer that connected to net, with a pppoe/vpn connection.
And an online linux server.
Some json file needed by a web application that placed in online server. json files sent by the local computer..

What is the best pattern for this?
1 - socket programming with php/python/...
2 - use scp. secure copy.
3 - ftp!
or anything.
