How to make a xy graph with axis

This seems to be much more of a challenge then I ever imagined:

I want a grid I want there to be two axis (labeled XY) and I want the grid to go from -1 to +1 in each axis with a grid line every .125

so it should look like this: http://ift.tt/1yHCyX5 (excuse my horrible paint skills)

Is there a service that can dynamically make this? Is there a way to use excel or some other program (preferably free or easy to get) software available?

I just need an image of this - so any type of output is fine as long as I can take a screenshot/save it
