How to integrate twitter bootstrap with zend 1.12 for making website responsive?

I am newbie to Zend framwork and started working with lower version of zend which is 1.12.

Now in order to make a responsive website in zend I have searched for plugins and I found that twitter bootstrap is best to make the website responsive.

When I searched for the integration of twitter bootstrap with zend 1.12, I am not getting the way to do it.

So, the question is that what is the right approach to integrate bootstrap with Zend without violating the Zend framework rules ?
