How to compile a web project? Is it possible?

I've heard it is possible to compile a web application.

I ask if it is possible to create an object file that runs on a server and that is compiled from a source code of a web project (so php, javascript, html, css, a CMS, a framework etc.)

Is it possible to do so? If yes, how?
