How to host our website by using a ms sql database and how to choose and set up a webserver? [closed]

we have been desperate the last few days in connecting our web server to our database server.

Our current setup: Web server: IIS Database: Microsoft SQL Server (running on an AWS EC2 instance). Communication language: PHP (have additionally installed a PHP driver)

When we tried to test the connection in the last step using the Windows Authentification with PHP code, we only saw an empty white window in the browser and no info about whether the connection is there or not.

What do I want?

• Can any of you explain to me (or show a step by step documentation) how to make a powerful web server communicate with a microsoft SQL server database? We would like to use an Apache or Nginx web server and have it communicate with the database via PHP.
