How to get in track into web development

Ok so, im currently doing final year project and the thing is I only know bits and pieces of how to code.

So let's get straight to the point,my time is limited here because currently im doing a degree and it's really packed.

I plan to take an online course such as treehouse which costs $25/month.this is so just so that I can grasp the concepts and know how to code properly for my project.

I'm stuck in between wanting to learn it all by myself with free resources online or learn it with a structured curriculum.

What are all of your opinions.
