Front end development : Angular or Wordpress?

I need some advices.

I am a guy with 10 years experience in IT, originally networking/security and server administration. I also have some strong experience in following languages :

-Java (+++)
-C/Python (++)
-PHP/HTML/JS/TS/Node.js (+)

I have developped a few APIs (one in python, one in node.js) for mobile or web app.

I want to go into front-end development, especially on websites and web-apps.

I decided the following :

  1. For static/simple websites that does not require communications with a backend / DB. I will use WordPress CMS. Since 10 years, its performance, features and customization aspects have improved a lot.

  2. For more complicated webapps/custom website, go with Angular (+ bootstrap) for front-end. I believe it will offer more scalibility, more possibilities .

So my questions are the following :

  1. Is my choice of technology stack for website development right ?

  2. I understand that WordPress generates in fact PHP code...Can i start a website on wordpress, then edit the html/php later to include Angular code in it later ?

In fact, what i would like is to develop all basic/visual/layout with the wordpress CMS and later, be able, to use Angular to include all more "sensible" operations (backend communications, auth etc...)

Is it possible ?
