java backend development without Sping Framework [closed]

I use java Servlet instead of using Spring framework, because java Servlet is more similar with other backend frameworks/languages, it is easy for me to think about the code.

1. Is that ok if I'm going to be a java backend developer?
2. I am curious why the industry likes Spring Framework?
