I'm intending to make a product review website. I'm trying to create my own product review web application that can run on my web site so people can easily post review through website and also smartphone app. I have experience in HTML and CSS but I'm very new to JS, PHP and databases attached to websites.
An example review application is as follows,
This review site has a simple design where people can enter a brand name or product name in a search bar and the site drop downs a menu to choose from and write a review. See below picture,

Could you tell me how to design an web application like this from scratch? What are the programming languages involved and how does the data bases are attached to work like above application. Any online tutorial that might give me an idea of how to create a review web application would also very helpful.
