Implement Upvote/Downvote comments using Javascript

I am new to web development and made a commenting widget with the help of Javascript and local storage. I am facing difficulties in implementing the number of upvotes and downvotes in the widget.I want to implement it using only Javascript. Please someone help me with any code or answer!
