Shutdown the http proxy still can visit Internet web site

I set the Opera browser's proxy:

after the proxy setting, I did not open the http proxy in my Mac:

PORT     STATE  SERVICE
8080/tcp closed http-proxy

then I use Opera to visit google.com, it still can visit. in my thought, I can not visit the google.com because the proxy is down.
