How do i create a web app like whatsapp from scratch?

I planning on working on a web-based instant messaging platform like whatsapp but with alot more features. It would be an android project.

I need ideas on how to start, factors to consider, requirements etc. For now, it would be an android project. All ideas and comments are welcomed. Thank u.
