Cross domain 1st party cookies, non unique

I own two domains; siteA.com and siteB.com.

When a user visits siteA.com they set a preference for the colour of their UI, now when they visit siteB.com I would like to read that cookie and update the colour of the UI.

I am not wanting to store any unique identifiers on the server.

What are the best options in this case?
