Alternatives to shiny for single parameter interactivity in R file?

I've created a dashboard in R that shows users data for their location. Right now, it's based on R's Flexdashboard package, so users need to download the .rmd file, modify the location line in the code, and then knit the Flexdashboard html file. I'd like to turn this dashboard into a web app with a dialogue box into which users can type their location. Then the app would display the dashboard for the user's location. Should I be using Shiny for this, or are there other alternatives?
