I want to make a web-browsing script with 2.7, but I need an alternative cookie handling module

I'm making a script that automates web actions using mechanize. I'm sticking with 2.7 so that I can use mechanize, i'm most familiar with it. However, cookielib is gone, and I'm not sure at this point how to handle cookies. Is there a way to do it in mechanize? Or, is there an alternative to cookielib for 2.7?
