Methods of emulating and recording a website? [on hold]

I want to record a video of a website, potentially hours long and am wondering about the best way to do it.

Ideally the solution isn't just leaving a web page open and using recording software the entire time. I was thinking maybe there's a way to emulate the site and then record it's changes. Does anyone know of anything that would allow me to do this?
