General question for designing & programming an online shopping websites

I know my question is a general question but I need other programmer suggestion or idea. I want to program a website for online shopping. I want to know should I program it with C# & SQL or MVC, or do you suggest to use the open source application like wordpress. or what other application or languages can I use?
