Do common arguments against using pixels in webdesign make sense?

As my primary field in programming hasn't been webdesign so far, I was always trying to wrap my head around the case against using pixels as unit of measure. Also let's use a site http://www.maitrea.cz/ for reference of a site measured in pixels if needed. Some of the points:

  1. Argument 1 it doesn't work with zooming: All the webpages measured in pixels I have tried work totally fine when using the zoom feature (tried in Chrome and IE).

  2. Argument 2 it ties to properties of the current display, each display has a different resolution: from what I understand about pixels in webdesign it is actually a totally precise length unit not in relationship with the pixels of the display at all and therefore not tied to them.

  3. Everyone talks about design without pixels but no one is actually doing it. Also all the websites containing articles about pixels being bad are constructed using pixel measurement.

What am I missing?
