Spring 5 Functional Web Framework

Not being Java and Spring guru, I've got a couple of questions regarding the new Functional Web Framework. It seems clear that it reduces complexity for microservices. However,

Does it reduce disk space requirements for Java code using it?

Does it improve performance for applications using it?

I realize that the easy answer is it depends; if so, depends on what?
