I am starting a project called Dreams-Of-VSTs and the goal is to add open source VSTs (VSTis) to a database and access them on a browser and other platforms and ultimately be able to play them one at a time with a MIDI controller.
If you're not familiar with VST technology here is a wiki link: http://ift.tt/1OBOUIT
This is very much like a simple online DAW, so you can play VSTs on the fly or test them out. I'd like to implement more features like effects if this much is even feasible. My question is how to go about doing this with existing VSTs?I'm not trying to create instruments for the browser but use ones that are already implemented. For the record these are often under a .dll or .vst file extension. I had considered trying to use google native client, but I'm not sure if that'd be best. I'm just getting started, and if someone is familiar with this I'd love to get some advice. Just some suggestions on different ways of doing this would be helpful. I know this question is somewhat ambiguous and open ended, but I do have some ideas.I'm just trying to find what's best. Thanks ahead, I appreciate it, and if you'd prefer to answer on a message or thread that'd be awesome as well. Cheers!
