summer project - where and how to start

I am a junior studying CS and I am looking for programming projects for the summer. My strongest language is C++ and I'm definitely willing to learn other programming languages this summer. I am interested in web development and mobile applications(including games) but I am clueless of where to really start learning/looking up. I am currently using bento.io and lynda.com but since I have no foundation in developing, I feel very lost. Would you guys recommend me going thru a tutorial and maybe work on another project afterwards? Or just jump into making an app?

I'm currently working as a buisness development intern at a mobile marketing start up so my hours of working on this project is a bit limitted but I'm willing to put time and effort. Thanks guys in advance. Any sort of advice is appreciated! :)
