I have a project where I need to build/find some sort of web templating engine/system that would be used to print various documents.
For simplicities sake, say I have the following:
- record for a person returned from db
- person.jpg (image of person mentioned above)
- id.jpg (contains background image for an id card)
I'm looking to map fields from the db and the persons photo on top of id.jpeg then create a pdf which will in-turn be printed.
I'm thinking many of you have done something vaguely similar and looking for suggestions on the best way to accomplish this kind of task.
Should this be done on the server side? In the browser? I've seen XSL Formatting Objects being mentioned... not sure where to go here
