Does YOURLS allow you to generate QR code using API?

I am using the open source URL shortner service called YOURLS. I need to generate short URLs and their QR codes from the back end. While generating short URLs is pretty easy to do from their API documentation, I couldn't find any good way to do get QR codes using API (like what bit.ly does). I can see that there are multiple plugins for YOURLS that allow you to generate QR codes either from the admin button or by adding .qr at the end of the short URL. Can I do this directly from the API?
