What is the best way to transfer files to a Linux server?

I have been creating a blog using the Flask Python library. Each post in the blog has a title, image, text with images as the content, and other simple things. Moving files over the FTP software every time is not efficient and I heard that saving files over the database is not a good thing to do. What is the best technique so that I can move custom files to my Linux server?
