Node.js server side rendering without framework or modules

I've been trying to learn node.js and was wondering if anyone knows a way how to do server side website rendering without frameworks or modules. I can easily do this with Express + EJS, but I want to try and do it without. After a lot of googling I could not really find anything regarding this topic in vanilla node.js. Does anyone perhaps have a link to something that goes over this topic or is willing to share a code example with me? Thanks :)
