Erlang httpc web server returing {error, socket_closed_remotely}

I am trying to call a number of http requests sequentially but after many requests httpc is returning {error, socket_closed_remotely}. How can I avoid this? Also I will need to make this process concurrent with 10-20 requests at a time.
