Change to dark mode manually

Is there any way to change the site theme to prefers-color-scheme:dark using only JS? I know there is an option to change all of the classes name by detecting the current theme. But since the dark theme style is ready and in use. I just want to know if there is an easy way to change the mode manually without changing all of the classes in our entire project.
