A brief history: My client, who is not tech savvy, has a website that was built some years back by a designer now deceased. The designer was in charge of everything from domain name registration to hosting while my client pays biannual maintenance fee.
I was called in to maintain the website after designer died and discovered that the only access my client has was just the WordPress login details to the site's backend.
Problem: The hosting account has expired and the domain is due to expire too in less than a month and we don't have access to any of the admin emails the original designer used in his transactions.
What have been done: The domain is registered and hosted on namecheap.com. I have repeated contacted namecheap's live support for help and they have been directing to raise support tickets all over the place but I have yet to receive a reply to any of my inquiries on what to do in such situation.
What other steps can I take? Is there a procedure for such situations?
