Crop an image on resize from one specific side

I have an image of a product on a webpage on which the product sits on the very left side of the image. Due to this, it would be good to have the image only crop from the right side on browser resize.

I can't resize the image on browser resize because the container is of fixed width. Is it possible to keep the left size of the image constant and crop out from the right side?
