I was wondering what is the difference between a proxy like Glype, who offers a web interface to navigate, and another like squid. I noticed that Squid was more solid, since it didn't give me any problem with sites that use a lot of javascript, unlike Glype. (And looks like also faster). At the same time i wanted to host a proxy to bypass the blocked sites from a PC and with Squid the websites resulted still blocked, while with Glype i could navigate on any sites. So how they work behind the scenes? And is there a way to use squid to bypass websites block?
