Using CMS to a page with medium server side logic

I'm working on a web page that needs some medium logic (a little bit similar to the locig in an online shop but ISN'T an online shop), and reading about CMS, they say that you can do anything with their system but, it's easy to add your own server logic without affecting the CMS logic? And how can that be done In Umbraco or Wordpress?
