Why do Websites sometimes remember login but not browser?

I have been using a learning platform recently. Each time I open their website, it asks me to login and when I login it says "You have already logged in through other system." I am familiar with the concept of how browsers use cookies to remember login but I don't understand what is happening in this case.

I use same browser (chrome) to login everytime.
