.htaccess handle /request to index.php?gonext=/request without redirecting

I want to redirect the /request to index.php?gonext=/request. But I don't want to do a redirect. I want to that if the user enters in the browser the /request, it stays in the upper bar, the server makes to handle it with index.php?gonext=/request. I didn't find any results on google. I'm running apache web server.
