Does the Finanical Team also do marketing

I'm on a Web Dev course ( we have 3 lessons a week and the rest are different units such as general computer stuff ) and i'm doing an Information Systems assignment.

I have to write about the different areas that a company has and the information that they collect and how they use it.

One of the areas I'm talking about is the financial team, I know the information that they use ( average sales of games in the genre, etc ) but do the financial teamcollect that data, or does the marketing team?

I wasn't sure where else to put this, so I'm really sorry if this website is the wrong place for my question.
