Programing languages needed for colecting and analyzing web data and visualization of results

My programming skills

I'm long time user of Visual Basic that is a part of Excel. I have created a dozen of databases (in excel and Access MS Office) and done automation of many process with that language. With combination of Excel I could create dynamic visualization of changes that are happening during a period of time. I also know SQL because I worked in MS Access with big databases in one company that had over 1000+ tables. But I know that MS SQL is not same as the real SQL.

Wanna grow further

I am finding many disadvantages with usage of that particular language. And because of that I want to start doing some stand-alone apps and improve my programing skills. I wanna be able to use my apps on Android and WebBrowser because I wanna be able to see results of analysis anytime and anywhere.

What kind of apps I would like to build

My current object is... gathering and analyzing web data to create visualized results (like those pies with numbers, ratios, index in Excel). Also some of apps will have to do some web element manipulations (but doing that in a background like click here, enter data here, submit, grab inner/OuterHTML, proceess data) and than show the results

Example of how I would proceed in process of gathering the web data when it requires login. And why I'm doing like that.

In VBA I prefer web element manipulation because it is undetectable in sense that the web site can't distinguished do I do my click or my code is doing job for me. So I could "click" my way to lets say my LinkedIn profile without raising any alerts post something, collect data from my linkedIn circle and logout. That is all done in a background, all I see is final results that are in my Excel grid. Once I tried to enter my profile with Python Get method over LinkedIn server and than I did get alert that someone is trying to connect over unknown browser to my profile.

Recommended programing language pack for me?

Now that you know the full and detailed story I hope you can recommend some programming language that I could learn and that I can use for things that I explained above? In short: Gathering web data, web element manipulation, export of data in csv file or on sql server or something where data can be stored and pulled in if needed, visualization of data based on user queries on my webpage or on Android app...

Hope for some answers to help me choose the path.
