Is there a way to put a line counter on the side like a text editor?

I'm trying to make a line counter at the side of my web-page that counts the lines of a ContentEditable DIV. Is there a way to achieve this like Monaco or CodeMirror? I have been trying to search for soloutions but there isn't many on Google to help me at all.
