How to redirect subsite to another subsite

I have a site for example xyz.com

and I am trying to redirect the domain - www.xyz.com/series to www.xyz.com/product using htaccess

and any action after series to append to product for example www.xyz.com/series/{123} to www.xyz.com/product/{123}

How can I do this using htaccess.
