Delete background when click on a button by css

I'm making a frontend for a website. On the mobile screen, when I click a button, the background of the button show about 1s and disappeared immediately. I don't want that. I tried with active, focus, visited, and hover but it doesn't work. What should I do so that the background is not visible when I click. Thanks.
