Build a visualize tool [on hold]

I am interested in developing something like this, visualisation tool, where users can select their preferences and the image updates accordingly.

Ideally, it would be great If I can do the same with PHP.

It seems it's done with Python. But trying to understand the development concept behind it. Would be great help to have some pointers for me to get started with this.
