for loop in facebook messenger web app json response

I recently was inspecting facebook's messenger ajax requests, it seems like I'm aware of its workings to some extent, but something caught my attention which's the use of a for(;;);{..} in their JSON object response. Is it common? Is it weird? Am I missing something? and also I'd love to know more about it.
