How do you use a local API written in C# in your Angular web UI?

So I've created a webbased user interface in Angular and now I'm supposed to connect its functionality to a local API (.dll) written in C#.

I have no idea how to do this, can anyone give me some advice or keywords? Do I need ASP.NET Web API?

I've been googling but haven't found a clear answer for my problem yet.
