Adding another piece of software to my web app

I currently have a web application running for my dad for his service business. I want to create a piece of software to allow customers to go on the website and schedule appointments online. How should I go about doing this?

Should I create a separate web app dedicated specifically for the scheduling and add it to the site?

Should I look into microservices?

Development using Node JS.
