Use to use custom component in Genexus project

I am new to Genexus. My requirement is to use a custom component in Genexus application/projects. Suppose we have developed a web component and we have spent enough effort for that. Is it possible to use/integrate that component in the Genexus system? If there are some samples/examples available please forward the link or document so that it will be highly useful for me?
