XMLHttpRequest cannot load XXX No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin'

I'm cloning a website and the javascript files uses some links. When I try to use it in my cloned hosting, I get this error in the Chrome Developer Tool "XMLHttpRequest cannot load XXX No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header ... has been blocked by cors policy: response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: no 'access-control-allow-origin' header is present on the requested resource." is there anyway to avoid this? I don't own the original link or domain so I don't know if there's a way to make it allow mine.
