What is the use of @WebServlet("/MyServletName") in Java Web application?

I am new in Java web development.I am kind of confused with the @WebServlet() annotation.I mean what is the use of it?

I was trying to pass my inputs from JSP to Servlet but without @WebServlet(),Server giving me 404 error.Whenter image description herey? Kindly,clear my doubt!!
