Monitor http requests for static files (images, javascript)

I'd need to configure the cache size for static files of my Web Server (Undertow Web server). In order to do that, I'd need to monitor the amount of http requests for static files such as images or javascript. I've found some examples of using netcat to proxy files from one route to another however I cannot see a way to monitor the amount of traffic for these resources. Do you have any advice?
